Support for education

For Sarah Feix, daughter of an employee at VELUX France, becoming a veterinarian has been a lifelong dream. Now in her final year of veterinary studies in Slovakia, she continues to pursue that goal with determination and compassion. A scholarship from the Employee Foundation helped ease the financial strain of studying abroad, allowing her to focus fully on her coursework and her thesis on calf health.

Gedvile Kovzonaite, daughter of an employee at UAB DOVISTA in Lithuania, always dreamed of working in the beauty industry. With dedication and hard work, she completed her studies to become a cosmetologist. The grant from the Employee Foundation allowed Gedvile to purchase essential tools and set up her own workspace, marking the first step toward professional independence.

Signe, the daughter of an employee at Svenska Fönster, Sweden, is training as a truck driver through a programme that combines theory and hands-on practice. She is now driving large trucks and learning key skills such as brake checks and correct loading.

“I’m aiming to pass all the tests and start work immediately after the training,” says Signe. She expects to take her dog along on long drives and is also open to trying other roles, such as operating a digger. “Thank you for the educational grant”, concludes Signe, who thinks it is great that children of VKR Group employees can apply for educational support for their final education.

Johanna, the daughter of Andreas Moll (EgoKiefer AG, Switzerland), received an educational grant to support her Bachelor of Science in Architecture.

She says the grant helped her purchase essential design software and materials for architectural models, and enabled study excursions that broadened her perspective. Johanna has since developed a strong interest in sustainable architecture and heritage conservation and plans to pursue further studies in these areas.

“The grant not only supported my education but also shaped my future aspirations, aligning my career with my values”, she concludes.

Bálint, the son of an employee at VELUX Magyarország LKR Kft. in Hungary, was inspired to become a house painter by his grandfather and first gained experience while renovating the family home. He used his educational grant to buy essential tools and equipment. With growing demand for skilled workers in the region, he is optimistic about his career prospects.
