Mountain trail to Kriváň peak
On Slovakia’s iconic Kriváň mountain, people came together to give a much-loved hiking trail new life. Supported by the Employee Foundation, Hikemates, Tatra National Park, the Slovak Armed Forces and colleagues volunteers from PBC Slovakia and the VELUX Slovakia restored the trail, helping people reconnect with nature . The renewed trail officially opened on 8 October 2026.
Giving new life to the trail to Kriváň
Kriváň is one of Slovakia’s best-known mountain landmarks and a place that draws people into the beauty of the High Tatras. In 2026, its much-loved hiking trail was restored by Hikemates in cooperation with Tatra National Park (TANAP), the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic and volunteers - colleagues from PBC Slovakia and the VELUX Slovakia, with funding from the Employee Foundation of the VKR Group.
The restoration reflects what Reconnect with Nature is all about: creating opportunities for people to spend time outdoors while caring for the natural places that make those experiences possible.
At Kriváň, that purpose became a shared effort. Hikemates, Tatra National Park, the Slovak Armed Forces and volunteers worked together to restore the trail.
A renewed trail. A shared effort. And another reason to step outside and reconnect with nature .
