What helped him keep going
Pawel chose to go all in, fearing small changes would not keep him motivated. The beginning was tough: he missed sweets and snacks, and found exercise exhausting and boring.
Podcasts made treadmill sessions easier. A promise to the person who had inspired him, and to himself, helped him keep going, as did celebrating small improvements.
Gradually, something shifted. First, he learned to tolerate exercise. After about two months, he started enjoying it and adding more activities. Movement became something he wanted to do.
Today, Pawel says he sleeps better, concentrates more easily and has much more energy and strength. He feels more active, more motivated and ready to do more.
“Better wellbeing, a healthier body, losing weight and looking better are all fantastic results. But in a way, I see them as very nice side effects.
The biggest achievement is that I changed the way I live – and discovered that I actually like this version of my life.”

Make your own commitment
Every change starts with a decision to try something different. What could your next step be?
Start a new habit
Choose one small change you would like to make and write it down. A commitment card can help turn an intention into something you are more likely to stick with. Keep it somewhere visible as a reminder and share it with colleagues, friends or family for extra motivation.
